What is the launch failed binary not found eclipse problem, and how to solve it?

I get the “launch failed binary not found eclipse” issue when trying to built Eclipse CDT project. Here is the detail of the error I got the error message:

Please give me some advice to solve this problem.

The cause:

Because there are some misconfigurations in Eclipse , so it causes this error. As the message states explicitly, "Binary Not Found", it means that some dependencies are required for building C++ code, but Eclipse is unable to find them in the Project Environment.

This error is also caused by some invalid information (such as DWARF 3) in the binary of the chosen project (which none binaries can run).

Solution:

To recognize the executable, Eclipse must choose a suitable binary parser.

First, you have to click right on the project which you expect. Then, let's click OK and do the following sequences:

Project->Properties->C/C++ Build->Settings->Binary Parsers, PE Windows Parser.

If Cygwin compiler was used, Cygwin Parser should be used as well. At least on Ubuntu 12.04 and Windows 7, the cross-compiler worked effectively for us. On Linux, we use Elf parser.

There is another way which can solve your problem. You only need to choose the project that you want and then press CTRL + B. It's not only simple but also effectively.

This was what happened to me, and I came up with a solution. Let's see if it works for you.

After you've built your project, click the Hammer icon

Select "Run".
Run Configurations.
Select "C++ Application"
Click the "New Launch Configuration” icon at the top of the window.
Under the C/C++ App, select "Browse".
Navigate to the folder in which you created your original project.
You will need to enter the Debug folder.
Click on the binary file that shares the same name and description as the project.
Select "OK".
To confirm the link that you have just created, click "Apply".
Close the window.

After that, you will be able run the project as often as you like.

This is what I did. Select MinGW GCC in the Toolchains panel when you create a new project.

After the project has been created, click on project file and press CTRL + B to create the project. Hit Run and you will see the output printed on your console.

This is what I found out. It was due to invalid DWARF3 information in the binary of the selected project. (The chosen project didn't have runnable binaries).

It worked like this: I had Main, and Library. Main was dependent on Library and both had executables, the latter only producing a static library that Main linked to.

My run option was set at "Run/Debug-> Launch". The setting was changed to "launch current or otherwise last" (see bottom right).

Everything would be fine if I selected the Main project. It would launch my main project. The error message from the OP would appear if I had the ¹ Library project selected. It turned out that the reason was simple: Since I selected the Library Project, the PE scanner would scan all binary files in the project. However, scanning was failing because of this bug, so the error message appeared before it could get to "Launch the previously launched app".

It could be circumvented by:

To ensure that the project I wanted was chosen, or...
Change compilers to make DWARF information that Eclipse could read without error, or
You can select "Always launch previously launched applications" in Run/Debug settings, although this might not be your preferred mode.

¹ I would not normally select the project directly. However, I would indirectly choose it because I was working within one of its source files.

You must change the Binary Parasers if you have a similar problem on a Mac.

Press Command + I To open properties (or right click on the project to select property)

Select Mach 64 Parser.
