If there is a positively charged metal plat and a neutral globe, the electrons of the neutralsphere attract towards the positively charged plate. At the end, the neutralsphere becomes positively charged.

This charging method is called "Charging through conduction".

The charging by induction technique uses a charged object to induce charge on an object. The charged object is used only to induct charges (electron movements) on the neutral object. The electrons from the sphere move towards the ground when the ground is touched to it. This causes the overall charge of the sphere to become positive.

This charging method occurs without contact and is called "Charging via induction".
