Hi everyone, I'm learning about programs. While working, I try run in the simulator. As a result, I get the message:

What can I do about the “command codesign failed with a nonzero exit code” issue? Is there a better approach?

The cause: This happens after you add a.png file and a.wav file to an existing.scn assets folder. Because of the increased security, Xcode does not like file extensions. The solution: You can fix them one at a time by cd'ing into the file's directory and using Terminal's 'xattr' command to remove their extended file attributes. To Get Rid of All Extended Attributes From a Single File To "clean" the attributes, use xattr with the -c flag:

xattr -c yourfile.txt

To Delete All Extended Attributes From a Large Number of Files Combine the -c "clean" flag with the -r recursive flag to recursively remove extended characteristics on all files in a directory:

xattr -rc /path/to/directory

This problem occurred to me and Xcode did not compile on my device. However, on simulator it worked perfectly.

These steps helped me solve my problem:

Open keychain access.
Lock the "login" keychain
Unlock it, enter your PC account password.
Clean Project is featured in the product menu.
It can be rebuilt again.

Everything works perfectly after that.

Some people do this by adding a.png to an existing folder in the.scn asset directory, and also a.wav file.

Xcode doesn't like extensions to files due to security concerns. These can be fixed one by one using cd'ing the directory where the file is located and then removing any extended attributes with the Terminal 'xattr command.

To Remove All Extended Atributes From a Single File

To "clear" attributes, use xattr and the -c flag

xattr -c yourfile.txt

To Remove Extended Attributes From Many Files

Combine the -c flag "clear" with the –r recursive flag to recursively remove extended attribute files from a directory.

xattr -rc /path/to/directory

This will help you to avoid the code signing error "resource fork", Finder information or any similar detritus."

Fix

Extended file attributes should be removed from your resource files, but not in the compiled bundle.

Terminal Open
Change directory to root of source files

$ cd /Users/rjobidon/Documents/My\ Project
All extended attributes should be listed

$ xattr -lr .

All extended attributes should be removed

$ xattr -cr .

Xcode errors

"Command CodeSign failed due to a nonzero exitcode"
"Resource fork or Finder information, and similar detritus are not permitted"

Cause

Apple made a security change to code signing. Code signing will no longer allow any file in an app package to contain an extended attribute that contains a resource fork, or Finder information.
