The biological process through which cells expand and divide into multiple daughter cells is known as”cell cycle. Two major events that happen during the cell cycle are mitosis and the interphase phase. The main purpose for the cycle of cells is reproduce and create new cells.
SOLUTION:- Cell cycle- it is the series of growth and development steps a cell undergoes between its “birth”–formation by the division of a mother cell–and reproduction–division to make two new daughter cells.
The stages of the cell cycle can be divided into two phases:
Answer:-
Pink labels: Interphase c:- The cell’s DNA is copied during interphase.
e) Mitotic (M-) phase:-During the mitotic phase (M), the cell divides its DNA and cytoplasm to create two new cells.
Blue labels:-
a) G 1 Phase: Also known as the First gap phase, this is when the cell becomes physically larger and copies organelles. It also makes the molecular building blocks that it will use in the next steps.
b] S phase – The cell synthesizes a complete replica of the DNA within its nucleus during the S phase. It also duplicates its centrosome. The centrosomes are responsible for separating DNA during the M phase.
d). G 2 phase :– Also known as the second gap phase, this is when the cell begins to reorganize itself in preparation for mitosis.
f). Mitosis:– In mitosis, when the nuclear DNA of a cell condenses into visible cells and is pulled apart from the mitotic spindle. There are four stages to mitosis: prophase, metaphase and anaphase.
g) Cytokinesis:– In cytokinesis, the cytoplasm of a cell is divided in two to create two new cells.
