Three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system an extension of the two-dimensional coordinate system. In this system the system, an additional axis called the z-axis extends perpendicularly to the x- and y-axis to the point of origin. While plotting in 3-D can be complicated, following these steps will aid in finding and plotting the points.
i.) Find the location that is on the x-axis. The x-axis is typically the axis that is facing towards us or away from us.
ii.) From there, proceed parallel with the y-axis (usually the side axis) by y units.
iii.) After finding the point on the y-axis, make a move to the Z-axis (top-bottom the axis) by the z units.
