The process of hybridizing the central atom in the molecule is determined by the VSEPR theory. In the beginning, one needs to draw the Lewis structure. The quantity of the electron domain are calculated from the Lewis structure. Following that by using the VSEPR theory the hybridization of the central atom is determined.

    The central atom of the first molecule is CH4, and it is sp3-hybridised.

    The second molecule NH3 is hybridized with the cental atom nitrogen.

    The central atom boron in the third molecule, BF3, is sp2-hybridized in the third molecule.
