In the ozonolysis process, compounds like alkenes, alkynes or other compounds with multiple bonds undergo reaction with ozone, resulting in the compound ozonide (ozonide can be described as an intermediate) and then the breaking up of an intermediate to create the product. This cleavage process of ozonide can be achieved using two methods, namely (a) an oxidative cleavage, and (b) Reductive the cleavage.
