The phase diagram is a graphic depiction of physical state of a material under various conditions of pressure and temperature. The typical diagram shows tension on the y-axis, and temperatures on the x-axis. When we cross lines or curves in the diagram, a change in the phase takes place. Additionally different states of the compound exist in equilibrium along the curves or lines.
