When I upgrade to NetWorker 9.1, in order to use vSphere 6.5, I get the error “No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it” Error message in NMC:

Unable to connect server, Remote system error, No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it
nsrctld NSR notice Daemon nsrd terminated

C:\\Program Files\\EMC NetWorker\\nsr\\logs>nsrrpcinfo -t <Networker_server_name> 390103
nsrrpcinfo: Remote system error - Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted.

nsrjobd severe Unable to query RAP database for initial RDZ value: RPC send operation failed; peer = ::1:[8992], errno = An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

Why has this problem occurred, and how can it be solved? Thanks.

The cause: The nsrd process continually crashes and restarts.
The NSRDB (the National Solar Radiation Database) has been corrupted.

Solution: Follow those steps to solve:

    1. Go along with instructions to recover nsrdb, it is okay using nsrdr.
Select a command prompt like root or user admin and run:
      mminfo -B
    2. If MM isn’t accessible, go to \nsr\logs\policy\Server Protection\Server backup, look for the most recent bootstrap backup, and take notes on what’s highlighted.
Inside nsr\logs\policy\Server Protection\Server backup a file with the data about Pool/Volume may also be found.
    3. All NetWorker services should be turned off.
Res folder must be rename under <NetWorker Installation path>\nsr
    4. Start NetWorker.
    5. Reconfigure the device at which Saveset was saved in NMC.
    6. Run the following command:
      nsrdr -B {bootstrap_saveset_id} -d {device}
To get nsrdr operating in interactive mode
    7. Restart all NetWorker services after finish.
