I am getting an issue that is “Usermod Group Docker Does Not Exist”. How to fix it?

Ideas for “Usermod Group Docker Does Not Exist”: 

Docker is a relatively new way of packaging software, but it has been around for about two years. Since then, there have been improvements to the underlying technology as well as to the overall configuration file format. Note that: Group usermod does not exist. Group is only for users who have been added to the same group and this is referred to as “Group Policy”. Here are steps to fix ” Usermod Group Docker Does Not Exist”

  • First of all, you need to creates docker group by the command line:
sudo groupadd docker
  • Then, Add your user to the docker group
sudo usermod -aG docker $USER
  • Finally, Log out and log back in so that your group membership is re-evaluated, for example with GNOME:
gnome-session-quit

    # Creates docker group
    sudo groupadd docker
    ​
