Water flows from the pipe shown in the figure with a speed of 5.0 m/s .

A: What is the water pressure as it exits into the air?

B: What is the height h of the standing column of water?

The Bernoulli’s theorem is, at essence it is the principle of conserving energy within the flow of fluid. The fluid flowing is kinetic in power, energy from pressure in addition to potential energy. Based on Bernoulli’s theorem all energy in the fluid that flows is constant. If we look at two distinct points in two different locations in the flowing fluid the Bernoulli’s Theorem could be described as follows:

*P*_{1 }*+ 1⁄2ρv _{1}^{2 }+ ρgh_{1 }= P_{2 }+ 1⁄2ρv_{2}^{2 }+ ρgh_{2} *

In this equation, *P _{1} ,P_{2} , V_{1}, V_{2}, h_{1}, h_{2 }*are the respective pressures at the points of interest and velocities of the respective points, as well as the height of the reference level at the points of interest. The terms

*p,g*represent the density of the liquid as well as the acceleration caused by gravity.
