What Does String Not In Pwd?

I want to understand about ”string not in pwd”. Do you have any suggestion for this?

    The cause: 

    After researching this problem for hours, I realize that when you try to change the directory to a certain folder on your desktop, it indicates that there is no such user or named directory.

    For example if you want to open ”spring 2021 classes” from desktop.

    cd desktop
cd spring 2021 classes

    You will get an error:

    string not in pwd: spring 
or 
too many arguments

    The cd command is misunderstanding that you are giving it different directories (spring, 2021, classes), so you have to face up with ”string not in pwd” problem.

    Solution:

    If you want to solve this error effectively, you can escape the spaces or inclose in quotes as the following:

    cd spring\ 2021\ classes # This is escaping the spaces
    cd "spring 2021 classes" # This is using quotes to inclose

  2. Here is the instruction that worked for me. Let’s check it out.

    The directory I'm trying to cd into is "! js basics" 
using "cd ! js basics" which won't work.

I was able to access the folder by escaping the space 
using this: \
​
USE THIS INSTEAD "cd \!\ js\ basics"
each \ escapes the command the code reads and instead 
reads it as text.
