The amines are classified according to basis of the amount of carbon atoms that are directly attached to nitrogen atoms. If the carbon atoms that are directly attached to nitrogen atoms is one, then the primary amine. If the carbon atoms that are directly connected to nitrogen atoms is two, the amine will be secondary. If the carbon atoms that are directly connected to nitrogen atoms is three the amine is tertiary.
