Ag2S, KClO4, CaCO3, AgCl, Ni(OH)2

♦ Relevant knowledge
Acidic solutions are those where the amount of hydrogen ions surpasses the number of hydroxide ions. A solution classified as acidic is one in which the concentration of hydrogen ions is higher than the hydroxide ion’s concentration.

    Answer: Ag2S, CaCO3 and Ni(OH)2

    Salts with basic anions will be more easily soluble in acidic solutions than pure water.

    S2-, CO32-, and OH- ions are basic anions. They give strong base OH- in aqueous solutions, as shown below.

    S2-(aq) + H2O(l) <=> HS-(aq) + OH-(aq)

    OH-(aq) + H2O(l) <=> H2O(l) + OH-(aq)

    CO32-(aq) + H2O(l) <=> HCO3–(aq) + OH-(aq)

    ClO 4– and Cl- are weak conjugate bases for strong acids HClO4 and HCl respectively.
