Within a cell, the amount of protein made using given mRNA molecule depends partly on

  • A. the presence of certain transcription factors.
  • B. the rate at which the mRNA is degraded
  • C. the degree of DNA methylation.
  • D. the number of introns present in the mRNA

♦ Relevant knowledge
There are three kinds of RNA: mRNA, TRNA, and rRNA which perform different roles.

MRNA is an oligonucleotide-based chain in the shape that of straight lines. it is responsible of transmitting genes from the initial DNA strand onto the polypeptide chain. To fulfill its function of transfer of the genetic data from DNA into protein, RNA contains

  • A specific nucleotide sequence that permits the ribosomes to connect to RNA
  • The preamble code is a signal that will start transcription
  • Codons encode amino acids
  • The Termination code is a way to convey details about the conclusion of the process of translation
